5:30pm: Juror Talk
6pm to 8pm: Artist Reception and Awards Presentation
Join us for the 5th annual Lillstreet International – a juried show open to artist submissions from across the world. For this year’s themed exhibition, juror Sandy Simon searched far and wide for “the perfect plate.”
Color or texture which screams ‘look at me’ isn’t what grabs me.
She selected 32 artists from an overwhelming number of applications. When asked about her criteria, she writes: “Color or texture which screams ‘look at me’ isn’t what grabs me. Subtlety of surface and strength of form align best with my sensibilities. I welcome a quiet approach, where the viewer or user can feel an affinity with the clay.”
