August 2012: Carla Nessa

Carla Nessa took a metal’s class in 1996 from a friend and was hooked. Slowly built on those skills over the years it’s in her recent time spent at Lillstreet that she’s really been able to refine her skills and ideas. Her excitement for metalsmithing lies both in finding ways to add inspiring color combination’s to pieces and the process of taking an object such as a marble or piece of stained glass that had an intended purpose in its original form and creating a framework transforming it into something entirely different.
