This collection of works begins in a series of blind line drawings resulting in the inception of compositions. Furthermore, the strokes of a pencil fill the page with abandon until the drawing consequently presents itself. Other parts of this process are informed by the infrastructure of buildings, specifically Brutalist architecture. This is the ever-present undertone embodied within the sketches and sculptures: the rawness of material, the protrusion of form, the cast of shadow. Extruded clay-shapes and thick-cut slabs create the language for the compositions. The combination of these constructions and drawings present a cohesive and confident aesthetic vision.
