I have been a woodfire potter since my first firing in 1986. My current goal is to explore the range of color and depth the anagama wood-firing process presents by experimenting with varied clay bodies and glazes that best register the drama of the firebox coal pile to the subtleties of the flame path and flame impingement. Most of my forms are thrown on the wheel. I am using several clay bodies that are textured with silica and quartz inclusions that are thrown with gesture and spontaneity.
